Film star glamour
The resort was originally built for Italian movie producer Dino Laurentis’ 1977 film Hurricane to house its star Mia Farrow, along with the rest of cast and crew.

The resort’s unique location by the lagoon makes it the ideal place to relax on the beach and soak up the sun, snorkel amidst the teeming marine life, or enjoy a glass-bottom boat ride. The nearby smaller islands, or motus, provide idyllic spots for private picnics and can easily be explored in a native canoe (pirogue). Another popular activity is the daily shark feeding, with guests safely in the water just a few feet away.
For the more adventurous a range of water sports are offered, including jetskiing, waterskiing and scuba diving.
On land, a 4WD safaris is the perfect way to explore the island, with its secluded bays and scenic hills.

The Sofitel Bora Bora Beach Resort and more generally Accor’s hotels in French Polynesia are boosted by great press coverage.
